Privacy Policy

Neon.Shop runs this store and website, along with the products, tools and services connected to it. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, design a sign, buy from us or contact our team, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which processes information on our behalf so we can run the site and take payments. Where our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy disagree on how your information is handled, this Privacy Policy applies.

Information we collect

By personal information we mean anything that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you. It doesn't include data that has been anonymised so thoroughly that you can no longer be identified from it. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Contact details such as your name, shipping address, billing address, phone number and email address.
  • Payment details such as your card or account number, billing information, transaction records and confirmation of payment. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our systems.
  • Account details such as your username, password, saved preferences and settings.
  • Order and design details including the signs you configure in our customizer, saved designs, proofs, wishlists, carts, returns and exchanges.
  • Messages you send us by email, chat, contact form or social media, including anything you attach to a support request.
  • Device and connection data such as your IP address, browser, device type and how you reached the site.
  • Usage data covering the pages you view, what you click and how you move through the site.

Where the information comes from

  • Directly from you, when you create an account, place an order, design a sign or contact us.
  • Automatically from your device, through cookies and similar technologies, when you visit or use the site.
  • From service providers who run parts of our business for us, such as our store platform, payment processors, shipping carriers, email tools and analytics.
  • From advertising and marketing partners, and other third parties who work with us.

How we use your information

  • Running the store. Taking and fulfilling your order, producing your sign, sending proofs for approval, processing payments, arranging shipping, handling returns and exchanges, and keeping your account working.
  • Support. Answering your questions, resolving claims and keeping you updated on an order.
  • Marketing. Sending emails and texts you have signed up for, showing you relevant ads, and measuring how our campaigns perform. You can stop marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of them.
  • Improving the site. Understanding which pages and designs people use, fixing problems and making the customizer easier to use.
  • Security and fraud prevention. Verifying accounts, detecting fraudulent or malicious activity and protecting the site, our customers and our business.
  • Legal reasons. Meeting our legal obligations, responding to lawful requests and enforcing our terms.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only where it is needed to run the business:

  • Service providers including Shopify, payment processors, production partners, shipping carriers, cloud hosting, customer support tools and analytics providers, who may only use it to perform services for us.
  • Marketing and advertising partners who help us reach customers and measure results. Depending on where you live, this activity may count as sharing personal information for targeted advertising, and you can opt out by emailing info@neon.shop.
  • Third parties you ask us to share with, for example when you use a social media widget or a login integration.
  • Legal and business transfers, such as responding to a lawful request from an authority, enforcing our terms, protecting our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Our relationship with Shopify

This store is hosted by Shopify. When you use the site, Shopify collects and processes information about your visit so that it can provide and improve the platform for us. That information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, and Shopify may combine it with data from your interactions with other merchants who use the platform.

For details of how Shopify handles that data and the rights you have in relation to it, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy/consumers.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and measure our advertising. Some are necessary for the site to function and can't be turned off.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site, including the customizer and checkout, may not work as expected.

Children

The site isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 as those terms are defined in applicable law.

Security and how long we keep information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee it. Please don't send sensitive or confidential details to us over unsecured channels.

How long we keep your information depends on why we hold it: to run your account, to provide our services, to meet legal and tax obligations, to resolve disputes or to enforce our agreements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymise it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below. These rights aren't absolute, and in some cases we may decline a request where the law allows it.

  • Access. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix information that's inaccurate or out of date.
  • Portability. Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format, or ask us to transfer it to someone else.
  • Opting out of targeted advertising. Ask us to stop sharing your information for targeted advertising. If you visit our site with the Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we treat that as an opt-out request for that browser or device.
  • Marketing preferences. Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. We'll still send you messages about your orders, such as proofs, receipts and shipping updates.
  • Objection and restriction. If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, ask us to stop or limit how we process your information.
  • Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email info@neon.shop. We may need to verify your identity before we can act, and we'll respond within the time the law allows. You can use an authorised agent, but we may ask for proof that you gave them permission. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, email info@neon.shop first and we'll try to put it right. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to appeal our decision or complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in, including in the United States where our team and several of our providers are based. Where we move information out of the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on approved transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfer it to a country recognised as providing adequate protection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to how we work, or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we'll post the revised version here and update the date at the top of the page.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Neon.Shop is the controller of your personal information. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy and Refund Policy.
